Irene M. Carden McHugh, 56, of Scranton, died Thursday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Vincent and Amy Van Wert Carden, she was educated in Scranton schools and was formerly employed by the VFW
Post 5209 as the bar steward. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, North Scranton.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister who loved spending time with her family. She especially loved caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and trips to Atlantic City. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are, two daughters, Allison McHugh and husband, Jamie Rinaldi, Clarks Summit; and Dina McHugh, Scranton; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jacob, Nico, Gracie, Dillon, Kyle, Noah and Zoey; three brothers, Vincent Carden; James Carden and wife, Jean; and Martin Carden and wife, Julie, all of Scranton; two sisters, Paulette Kisal and husband, John; and Kathy Davis, both of Scranton.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Corey; and companion of 20 years, Willard "Winky" Kriedler.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, William Street. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements provided by the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home. 157 S. Main Ave., West Scranton.
