Jane Mable Evans

Jane Mable Evans of Falls died Tuesday in Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Evans.

Born in Tunkhannock on April 10, 1945, daughter of the late William F. and Emily Baker Strumski, Jane was a graduate of Falls Overfield High School, class of 1963. For many years she was a leader and active member of the Falls 4-H Club and a member of the New Life Community Church in Dallas.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Joseph Smith, Lake Winola; stepson, Frank Evans, Elmhurst; sister and brother-in-law, Peg and Norm Ball, Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Amber, Joseph and Suzanne; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Strumski.

The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor GiDeon Giattino of the New Life Community Church, Dallas. Interment, Memorial Shrine, Carverton.
