Jerome P. Brennan, 66, Carbondale, died Sunday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an illness.
Born Oct. 8, 1946, in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Jerome M. and Catherine Gaffney Brennan. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale. He received his bachelor's degree in English from the University of Scranton and a master's degree in education from Marywood College. Before his retirement, he had been employed as a sixth-grade and Title 1 math teacher for the Susquehanna Community School District for 34 years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, where he served as a Eucharist Minister. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Columbia Hose Company and the Trinity Club, all of Carbondale.
He enjoyed meeting every morning with his close friends from their breakfast club. He was very proud of his two daughters, and his life revolved around them.
He is survived by two daughters, Catharine and Mary Brennan, and their mother, Paula Zrowka Brennan, all of Browndale; and several cousins.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, John Brennan.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment, St. Rose Cemetery, Carbondale.
