Joan A. Frizziola, a Peckville resident, died Friday morning at home. She was the wife of Anthony V. Frizziola. They were married Sept. 11, 1945.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice Dziki Preston McDonnell, she attended St. Michael's grammar school in Olyphant, and was a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn. Before retirement, she was employed in the human resources department for Morgan Stanley in New York. Joan was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, and its Rosary Society. She was a member and past president of the Mid-Valley Hospital Auxiliary, the American Legion Post 327 Auxiliary, Olyphant, and was the creator of the Ladies Christopher Council 4257, Knights of Columbus, in New York.
Surviving are daughters, Donna Mondi and husband, Frank, Staten Island, N.Y.; and Doreen DiStefano and husband, Anthony, Peckville; grandchildren, Joseph Mondi and wife, Tuesday; and Lauren Mondi, and great-grandchildren, Jake, Madison and Christopher Mondi; and numerous cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Davidson.
The funeral will be Monday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church St., Archbald. Entombment will be at St. Mary of the Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City.
A viewing is scheduled for Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
