Joanne Marie Gabriel

Joanne Marie Gabriel, Taylor, died Sunday at home.

Born in Taylor on May 30, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jean Llewellyn Martin McAndrew. A 1979 graduate of Riverside High School, she went on to receive her certification in physical therapy assistant in 1981 from Lycoming County Community College. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Scranton. She had worked as a physical therapist for various facilities in the area.

Joanne enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her daughters Kaitlin and Amy were the pride and joy of her life.

Surviving are her daughters, Kaitlin and Amy Gabriel of Taylor; three brothers, James Martin Jr., Wilkes-Barre; Michael Martin, Jensen Beach, Fla.; and Dr. Scott Martin, Westwood, Mass.; her companion, David Scholtz; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, with services by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor of Divine Mercy Parish, Scranton. Interment will be at Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.

Friends may call Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.
