Joel Richard Maginley, 39, of Scott Twp., died Wednesday. He was the husband of Beverley Craig-Maginley. The couple was married on Feb. 22, 2010.
Born June 10, 1974, in Montrose, he was the son of Frances Testa Maginley, Dalton, and stepson of David Brainard, Lenox. A Scott Twp. resident for more than six years, he was a graduate of Mountain View High School. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, working at the Carbondale post office as a letter carrier.
Joel was a talented wood craftsman, having made beautiful furniture and other treasured items. He enjoyed music and singing. He enjoyed drawing and spending time at home with his family. Joel was a loving, compassionate and understanding husband, and a wonderful father and stepfather, always being there in a time of need for any and all of his loved ones. Joel's personality and sense of humor made a lasting impression on all, and could brighten some of the hardest days. Joel also created a very special bond with many customers on his mail route. He will be greatly missed.
Also surviving are his daughter, Heaven Busalacchi; a sister, Kristina Krukowski and spouse, Heather, Olyphant; a stepsister, Stephanie Stone and husband, Ryan, Hallstead; two stepbrothers, Michael Brainard, Jackson; and Lynn Brainard and wife, Bonnie, Missouri; a foster brother, Ricky Bednarczyk Jr., Lenox; stepdaughters, Margo Longstreet and husband, Dan; Misty Sokoloski and Amanda Craig, all of Scott Twp.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and June Barrett; also from Scott Twp.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
