John A. Ford

John A. "Jack" Ford, a proud, lifelong resident of West Scranton, died Sunday morning in Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Ann Marie Mulrooney Ford. He was educated in Scranton public schools. Jack was a devoted and lifelong member of St. Ann's Basilica, West Scranton. Before retirement, he had been employed by the city of Scranton as a supervisor for its former CETA Program and also had been employed by the Jewish Community Center. He was member of VFW Post 6528 and was a veteran of the United States Army.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the entire staff at Allied Terrace for the wonderful care, love and support given to Jack during his time living at the Terrace.

Surviving are family members, Colleen Lutchko and Robert Burke; Joe Smith and Mary Hellen Bend; Thomas, John and Edith Ford; Katherine and Ann Regina Reilly; Ann Pusateri; additional nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Thomas, Edward and Paul; sisters, Marjorie Smith and Mary R. Burke; nephew, Kevin Burke; and niece, Ann Marie Kraus.

Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Basilica, St. Ann's Street, West Scranton. Anyone attending the funeral is asked to go directly to the church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton.
