John Brian O'Boyle

John Brian O'Boyle, 66, of Newton Lake, Greenfield Twp., died Monday at home after an illness. His wife is the former Christine Sousanes.

Born in Scranton, son of the late John A. and Clair Clune O'Boyle, he attended St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. A graduate of Bayonne High School, Bayonne, N.J., he was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Albert Crane American Legion Post 221, Carbondale. Before retirement, he was a lead signalman for New Jersey Transit. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Jersey City, N.J.

Also surviving are two sons, Brian, Scranton; and Sean, Greenfield Twp.; a daughter, Donna Gullace, Bayonne, N.J.; five grandchildren, Brandon, Olivia and Owen O'Boyle, Ryan and Kirsten Gullace; a sister, Ann Marie Tierney, Alpharetta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul, in 1972.

The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Entombment, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
