John Forkin

John "Curly" Forkin, 55, Scranton, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Patrick and Dolores Staubach Forkin, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School, and earned an associate's degree in carpentry from Johnson College. He was employed by Lackawanna County for the last 20 years.

John lived life to the fullest. He had a big heart, and would do anything for his family and friends. As a final act of kindness, he was a donor to the Gift of Life 
program.

Surviving are a brother, Joseph and wife, Sharon, Avoca; three sisters, Pat Jeffers, Scranton; Mary Kay Salvaggio and husband, Joe, Clarks Summit; and Elizabeth Bechtold, Dunmore; his best friend, Kenny Levandoski; nieces, nephews and 
cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert; a brother-in-law, Thomas Jeffers; and a nephew, David 
Jeffers.

A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Maronite Church, 1320 Price St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Marini, pastor. A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton.
