John J. Knapp

John J. Knapp, 76, of Jessup, died Friday at Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center. His wife is the former Sandra L. Wescott.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late John and Anna Noverini Knapp. He graduated from Jessup High School and was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, St. Mary's Church. He served in the Marine Corps between 1954 and 1957.

Also surviving are three sons, Bryn Knapp and partner, Lisa Osborne, Archbald; John J. Jr. and Jay Anthony Knapp, Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Mia Sidlasky and husband, Richard, Tampa, Fla.; Susan Munley and husband, Francis, Jessup; and foster daughter, Angelika Jones Gutierrez, Bedford, Va.; a brother, Louis B. Knapp and wife, Ann, South Williamsport; grandchildren, Tia Knapp, with whom he resided; John J. III and Deborah Knapp; Haley and Rico Sidlasky; Stephanie, Keri, Mikaela and Joseph Knapp; Giovanni and Julius Joseph Knapp; and three nephews, Louis, David and Adam Knapp.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Louis Knapp.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Church. Interment, St. Mary's Assumption Cemetery, Montdale.

Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m.
