John "Jack" Notari, 85, of Scranton, died Tuesday at VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Donna Race. The couple celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Born Oct. 31, 1927, in Scranton, son of the late John Notari and Anita Del Guercio, John worked for several sign companies across the country before opening Ken-Tuck Signs, which he owned for 44 years.
He was an avid Yankees and Dolphins fan and looked forward to baseball season the most. To him, when the Yankees were losing they were still in first place.
Also surviving are four daughters, Diane Noble and husband, Rich, Pittston; Jackie Andrade and husband, Garth, Trucksville; Anita Notari, Mount Cobb; and Lois Kushla and husband, Wally, West Chester; two sons, Kenneth Notari and wife, Donna, Mount Cobb; and Quinto Notari and wife, Kim, Lake Ariel; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Notari and wife, Marie, Scranton; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Nossal and Josephine Bidwell, both of Scranton; his dearest friend, Walter Woehrle and wife, Dianne, Moscow; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a stepfather, Joseph Del Guercio; a sister, Polly Stone; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Doane.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
