John P. Coyle Sr., 64, of Olyphant, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Kilsyth, Scotland, he was the son of the late Hugh and Rita O'Neill Coyle and a graduate of the Scranton School District. He was a veteran of the Army
, having served during the Korean War
. Before retirement, he was a salesman for the automobile industry.
He was an avid fly fisherman of the Delaware River in Hancock, N.Y., and he enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed taking walks with his dog, Bo.
Surviving are two sons, John P. and wife, Deborah Coyle, Scranton; and Robert J. and wife, Kimberly Coyle, Taylor; a brother, James "Bambi" Coyle, Scranton; two sisters, Maureen Coyle, Scranton; and Betty and husband, Paul DelRosario, Dunmore; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Coyle.
Private funeral services will be conducted Monday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore.
