John P. Howell

John P. Howell of Hamlin, Pa., born May 31, 1970, died Thursday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Always dedicated to the family business, Tri-County Auto Body, John was also a graduate of Western Wayne High School, class of 1988, and a member of Salem Masonic Lodge 330.

John was a loving husband, caring step-father, wonderful son, thoughtful brother and kind-hearted uncle and a soon-to-be father eagerly anticipating the birth of his baby daughter. He carried a tender and carefree personality that drove him to spend time with his family and ride his Harley with his friends.

Family, friends and the community will remember John for his great sense of humor, adventurous spirit and signature smile. Relentlessly generous with his time, John was a giving person who was always willing to help anyone is any way he could.

A gift and a blessing to the many lives he touched, "Johnny," as he was affectionately known, will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

John is survived by his expecting wife, Christina; step-sons Eric and Kevin Selemba; parents, Harry and Jean Howell of Lake Ariel, Pa.; sister, Bonnie and her husband, Chris Patackis, of Harleysville, Pa.; sister, Jamie and her husband, Vito Forlenza, of Holland, Pa.; and niece, Ella; and nephew, Connor Patackis; numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the South Canaan Free Methodist Church, 19 St. Tikhon's Church Road, South Canaan.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Masonic services will be held Sunday at 5.

Interment, Simon Cemetery, South Canaan.
