John Paul "Jack" Jones Jr. of West Scranton died Monday morning at home after being stricken ill.
Born in Scranton, son of Jane Kreinberg Jones of Scranton and the late John Paul Jones Sr., he was educated in Scranton schools and was a 1967 graduate of West Scranton High School. He was a carpenter working out of the local carpenter's union.
He was a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passion was fishing in area lakes and rivers. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are two brothers, Thomas and wife, Linda, Scranton; and Alan and companion, Judy, Scranton; a sister, Jane Kashuba and husband, Richard, Scranton; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 6 p.m. from the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Earl O. Cassel, pastor of the United Baptist Church of Scranton. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
