Joseph A. Casella

Joseph A. "Nuckey" Casella, 60, a lifelong resident of Old Forge died Thursday.

Born on Jan. 31, 1952, son of the late Fiore and Gloria Curl Casella, Joseph was a graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1969, before attending Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge.

An avid sports fan, he loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. A gentle soul with an unmatched sense of generosity, he will be forever missed.

He is survived by his son, Anthony Fiore Casella of Lawrence; his brother, James Casella, with whom he resided; two sisters, Gail Giannone and husband, Guy, of Taylor; and twin sister, Rose Mary Ciamillo and husband, Harold, of Verona, N.J.; his former wife, Joann Stallone Casella of Old Forge; many nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death was his beloved brother, Brian Williams.

Blessing services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., in Old Forge, to be conducted by the Rev. Louis T. Kaminski. Interment, Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects today from 5 to 8 p.m.
