Joseph A. DiStasi, 75, of Old Forge, died Thursday morning at home. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, the former Judy Brezinski.
Born in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Luciano and Reba Augustine DiStasi. Before his retirement, Joe worked for Preferred Meals, Moosic, for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, West Scranton, and was a member of the R&L Club, Taylor.
Throughout the years, he enjoyed fishing and watching the Oakland Raiders and New York Mets.
Also surviving are a son, Joseph A. Jr. and wife, Melissa, Old Forge; a daughter, Tracey, Old Forge; two grandchildren, Eliza and Joseph A. III; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at Old Forge Cemetery by the Very Rev. Nestor Kowal, St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, North Main Avenue and Howell Street, Scranton, PA 18504.
