Joseph D. Bei

Joseph D. Bei, 92, of Peckville, died Friday afternoon at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ceil Rossi Bei.

Born in Eynon, son of the late Egidio and Elizabeth Pellegrini Bei, Joe served as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II, stationed in England. After his retirement as an engineer from Weston Instruments, formerly Daystrom, in 1986, he became an accomplished woodworker. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Archbald.

Joe was a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a nurturing nature that was enhanced by his wit, intelligence and compassion. He was a talented musician and mathematician, and enjoyed mentoring others in these fields of study. His days were spent enjoying his garden, his electronics, drawings and puzzles of any degree of challenge.

Also surviving are a daughter, Carol, St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; a son, Dave and wife, Linda, Clarks Summit; two stepsons, John Pambianco and wife, Georgia, Gibsonia, Pa.; and Chris Pambianco and wife, Helen, Victorville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Sean, Kyra, Stephanie and John Marcus; and four great-grandchildren, Lucia, Bode, Bianca and Jennifer.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna Mascelli; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Rossi.
