Joseph F. Franceski, 92, of Clifford Twp., died Friday at the Carbondale Nursing Home after an illness. His former wife was Florence Slick.
Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Forest City, he was the son of the late Frank Cirillo and Catherine "Katie" Bucinelli Franceski.
Joe enjoyed a full life of family, friends and faith. He was a bundle of energy with an unmatched work ethic. If you ever met Joe, you'd remember that moment for an eternity. His firm handshake, quick wit and broad smile left positive impressions on multitudes of folks for decades. Our days were brighter because of Joe. The world's loss is God's gain. Joe was a member of Ascension Parish of Forest City, a professional barber, drummer and vocalist. He also formerly owned Clifford Beverage Co. and currently owned and operated Hillcrest Farm, Clifford Twp.
He is also survived by two sisters, Catherine "Kitty" Pepson of Clifford; and Betty Jo and husband, Frank Bishop, of Barnegat, N.J.; one brother, Claude Franceski and wife, Josephine, of West Hartford, Conn.; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by seven brothers, David, Francis, Leo, Cyril, Edward, Albert and Richard Franceski; and three sisters, Mary Franceski, Jean Francisco and Winifred Lefebvre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 741 Delaware St., Forest City, celebrated by the Rev. Patrick L. Albert, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Forest City. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
