Judith M. Conlin, 71, of Carbondale, died Sunday at home. She was the wife of Edmund C. Conlin. The couple had been married for 36 years.
Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Doyle Moran. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Judy had been employed by Specialty Records/WEA, Olyphant, before retirement. She was also a co-owner of the Fixit Shoppe, Carbondale.
She enjoyed traveling to the New England states, attending balloon festivals and, when they owned their own airplane, traveling to "fly-in" events. She enjoyed vacations with cousins, Bill and Diane, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy fought her disease with grace, dignity and humor. She passed away peacefully.
The family would like to thank Dr. Neal Davis and staff, Commonwealth Hospice, and her sister, Janet, and former husband, Harry Oswald, for their care and compassion through Judy's journey.
She is also survived by a son, Robert Irish, Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Lorelei and husband, Paul Johnson, Carbondale Twp.; two step-daughters, Edith and husband, Thomas Christopher, Chapman Lake; and Gail and husband, Harold Connelly, New Port Richie, Fla.; a brother, John J. Moran, Carbondale; a sister, Janet Steimiller, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Moran, Chicago; five grandchildren, Curtis, Joseph and Katherine Johnson; Jessica Watkins and T.J. Christopher; two great-granddaughters, Lily and Grace; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, Jerry and Joel Moran.
A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Oliver Shifler & Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc., 62 N. Main St., Carbondale, by Chaplin Tim Weeks of Commonwealth Hospice.
