Katherine Mayforth

Katherine Mayforth, 100, a resident of St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home, Elmhurst Twp., died Monday night at the facility. She would have celebrated her 101st birthday in March. She was the widow of John Mayforth.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Thomas and Theresa Russo Bivona, she was educated in New York City schools. She worked as a stock clerk for New York City until she was married. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Mass at St. Mary's Villa Chapel.

Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Hoffman, Madison Twp.; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Grace Thibault; and a brother, Charles Bivona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Church St., Moscow, by the Rev. Robert Simon, pastor. Interment to follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to Mass time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church at the above address.
