Keith M. Hinkley, 81, lifelong resident of Nicholson, died Sunday evening at Select Specialty LTACH at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Ruth.
Keith was born Oct. 26, 1931, son of the late Bernard and Elsie Moore Hinkley. He graduated from Nicholson High School in 1949 and served in the Air Force during the Korean War
. Keith worked for many years at Bendix Corp. in South Montrose as a computer programmer and data systems manager.
He loved everything about the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He passed away peacefully.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shivprasad Nikam, Linda Bohan, the Geisinger physicians and wonderful ICU nursing staff of Geisinger Wyoming Valley, as well as the caring physicians and staff at Select Specialty Hospital in Danville.
Keith is also survived by a son, Eric Hinkley, Beach Lake, and wife Tanya; daughter, Jill DeFelice, Tuckerton, N.J., and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Matthew DeFelice, Millville, N.J.; Lauren Hinkley, Towson, Md.; Paul DeFelice, Tuckerton, N.J.; Eric J. Hinkley, Clarks Summit; and Caden Hinkley, Beach Lake; stepgrandchildren, Janell, Jalenna, Jennson and Justin Gibbs, Beach Lake; his sister, Jeanine Gable, Dalton and Punta Gorda, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the Nicholson Presbyterian Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the family home from noon until 3 p.m. following the service. Private interment will be held at a later date in Nicholson Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
