Lois Eileen Kleeman Thomas

Lois Eileen Kleeman Thomas, 84, of Scranton, died peacefully Monday at home. She was the widow of Thomas James Thomas, who died Aug. 30, 1985.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Anna Gerlach Kleeman, she was of the Lutheran faith. Educated in Scranton public schools and a graduate of West Scranton High School, Lois was a wonderful homemaker, accomplished seamstress, and an outstanding cook and baker.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She met her best friend and future husband, Tom, on a blind date; they were married in 1955 and shared 30 happy years together raising their family. Lois was an avid Penn State fan, and looked forward to Saturday game days. She will be missed by her three daughters, family members and friends.

Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Hart, Galloway, N.J.; Lynn Fox and husband, Gary, Waverly; and Lori Thomas, Scranton; a brother, Karl Kleeman and wife, Tina, Scranton; sister-in-law, Joan Kleeman, Dunmore; five grandchildren, Jillian and Kelly Hart, Thomas, Holly and Ryan LaCapra; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Paul and Wayne; and four sisters, Ruth, Wilma, Dolores and June.

The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
