Louise Severs Kurimsky, 89, of Peckville, died Wednesday at the VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the wife of W. Christopher Severs, who died in 1960, and Andrew Kurimsky, who died in 2005.
Born in Peckville, daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Solusky Halastra, Louise was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, and was a graduate of Blakely High School. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was very active in many local prayer groups.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was loved by all who knew her and she will be sadly missed.
Surviving are a son, Christopher W. Severs and wife, Elaine, Peckville; two daughters, Donna Williams, Peckville; and Mary Lou Bolognese and husband, Michael, North Wales; 12 grandchildren, Ame, Christopher, Gregg, Jill, Robert, Andrew, Benjamin, Sonya, John Paul, Bryanna, Ezra and Channon; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Violet Bratty; and a brother, Paul.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Interment will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's food pantry, 322 First St., Jessup, PA 18434.
