Lucille Vitaioli Mancia

Lucille "Cubie" Mancia, 92, Jessup, passed away March 13, 2013. Her husband Dominic Mancia died in 1953.

Born April 20, 1920, she would have celebrated her 93rd birthday next month. Born in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Ferranti Vitaioli. Before her retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry. Affectionately known as Nonna or Nonni Cubie, she enjoyed her favorite TV shows, Lawrence Welk, the polkas and ballroom dancing, but her greatest love was that of her family. She always put their needs above herself and only knew how to give love and expect so little in return. She was a great cook and baker and her recipes will live on in our families.

Our family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Susan Biancarelli and Dr. Bria Tinsley and all of the staff at the Laurels Rehab Center for all the kindness, care and compassion shown to our mother during her short stay.

She is survived by daughters, Alberta and husband, Robert Solomon, with whom she resided; and Angela and husband, Bernard Holecko, Peckville; grandchildren, Kim Stein and Rob and wife, Kim Solomon; and great-grandchildren, Jessica and Greg Stein; Isabella and Aurianna Solomon, all of Eynon; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Mario and Pvt. Albert Vitaioli; and grandson-in-law, Charles John Stein, who passed away Sept. 18, 2011.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. with a blessing service in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning from 10 a.m. until service time.

In memory of our mother, when someone offers a smile or does a good deed for you, pay it forward. What a wonderful world it would be!
