Margaret Cox, 75, a four-year resident of the Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor, formerly of West Scranton, died Wednesday morning. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Edward Cox Sr., on Feb. 28, 2010.
Born in Scranton on May 21, 1937, daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Fadder McGuire, Margaret worked for the state hospitals of Scranton and Clarks Summit before her retirement. She was a former member of St. Patrick's Church in West Scranton and in her later years, her favorite pastime was puzzle books.
She is survived by four stepchildren, Edward Cox Jr. and wife, Mary; and Thomas Cox, all of Scranton; and Katherine Monacelli and husband, Robert; and Sandra Krulikowski, all of Taylor; brothers, William McGuire and wife, Betty, Scranton; and Gerard McGuire, Pittston; numerous nieces and nephews; and stepgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Joseph, Edward, Thomas, Gus and Patrick; and sisters, Geraldine, Ceil and Marion.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, to be conducted by the Rev. Doug Jensen. Interment, Forest Home Cemetery, Taylor.
