Maria Consuelo Yengle de Rospigliosi, 97, of Scranton, died Thursday at the Mountain View Care Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Rospigliosi V., in 1992.
Born in Trujillo, Peru, she was the daughter of Manuel Yengle Maestre and Irene Segura. After getting married, Maria Consuelo was a homemaker, who had a gift for hospitality and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
Both she and her husband had a passion for tango, and enjoyed traveling together. Maria touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She will be deeply missed by her adoring family.
She is survived by three daughters, Florelena and Teresa Rospigliosi and Victoria Posloncec, all of Scranton; two sons, Juan M. Rospigliosi, Lima, Peru; and Cesar G. Rospigliosi, Archbald; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Nicanor, Salvador, Jorge and Humberto Yengle, Marina de Beltran, Regina Palacios and Grace Stewart; and son, Roberto E. Rospigliosi, on Feb. 23.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin Monday at noon from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Parish, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Patrick J. McLaughlin. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
