Marjorie Hibbler

Marjorie "Hibby" Hibbler, 94, of Eynon, formerly of Dunmore, died Friday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Center. She was the widow of Michael Hibbler, who died in 1979.

Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Suzanne Yencho Gdovin. She attended Blakely schools and was employed in retail sales at Sears for many years before retirement. She resided in Dunmore most of her life and was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Dickson City, where she was very active in the choir and the Ladies Aid Society.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved playing Scrabble with her cousin, Gert, and enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Hawaii. She passed away a day before her 95th birthday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 3 North at Allied Skilled Nursing Center for their kind and compassionate care.

She is survived by three daughters, Suellen Wallace and husband, Jim, Eynon; Phyllis Burton and husband, Joseph, Lebanon, Pa.; and Jane Lee and husband, Peter, Hawaii; four grandchildren, Eric Wallace, Tracie Lennox, Kimberly Metzgar and Joseph Burton; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Matilda and Emma Molitoris; and Esther Miller; and a brother, George Gdovin.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with services at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Allen Vomhoff. Interment Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church, 25 Hillcrest Drive, Olyphant, PA 18447.
