Mary Ann Hickey

Mary Ann Hickey, 58, of Simpson, died Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after a long battle with heart disease. Her husband of 32 years is James B. Hickey.

Born Sept. 26, 1955, in Carbondale, daughter of the late James and Thelma Daniels Rushworth, she attended Benjamin Franklin High School and enjoyed crocheting, reading the Bible, fishing, gardening, NASCAR, camping, the New York Yankees and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. She was a representative of the Fell Twp. Democratic Committee and also a member of the North Valley Baptist Church in Mayfield. Mary was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by a son, Stan Dombroski and wife, Melissa of Carbondale; a daughter, Jamie and husband, Jack McNerney, of Carbondale; four grandchildren, Randy, Breanna, Riley and Xander; a sister, Thelma Vandermark of Scranton; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Cobb.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Farview and 41st streets, Carbondale. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.
