Mary Crane Ryan, 83, of Scranton, died Friday at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa. after an illness. Mary and her husband, Joseph Ryan, were married for more than 40 years when he died in 1996.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Margaret Walsh Crane. Mary was a graduate of Dunmore High School and the Lackawanna Business College. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Church and, in addition to her duties as a homemaker, a dedicated employee of St. Paul's School for more than 30 years.
Mary is survived by daughters, Mary Kay Schmidt and husband, John; and Madonna Moran and husband, Art, both of Scranton; sons, Joseph Ryan and wife, Janet, Wesley Chapel, Fla.; and Thomas Ryan and wife, Shelly, Fairfax, Va.; seven grandchildren, Allison Carroll, Laura Rorick, Molly, Tom and Art Moran; Kathleen Powers and Rachel Ryan; as well as five great-grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church celebrated by Monsignor William Feldcamp, pastor. Internment at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
The family will greet friends at St. Paul's Church on Monday from 8:30 until the time of service.
