Mary Elizabeth Schiavone Bailey

Mary Elizabeth Schiavone Bailey, R.N., of West Scranton, died Tuesday at home after a battle with heart disease.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Joseph "Chef" and Nancy Jenkins Schiavone of Lake Winola, she was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.

She enjoyed spending summers at Lake Winola, attending Jimmy Buffet concerts, NASCAR, fashion and she absolutely adored her dachshund dogs. But the most important thing to her was her family. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister and aunt, her nephews were especially loved and she was looking forward to her first grandchild, expected to arrive in July. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sarah and husband, Charles Russello, Scranton; a brother, Salvatore and wife, Ronda, Clarks Summit; three nephews, Salvatore, her godchild; Santo and Silvio; aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph; a brother, Joseph; and a sister, Georgia Ann Schiavone.

A blessing service will be conducted Saturday at noon in the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Saturday, 9 a.m. until time of service.
