Mary Fabri Beggin

Mary Fabri Beggin, 92, a lifelong Jessup resident, died Thursday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Michael Beggin Sr., who died April 1, 1991.

Born in Jessup, daughter of the late Domenico and Adele Bianchi Fabri, she attended Jessup High School. She began working at Barbizon as a floor supervisor and later at RCA Consumer Electronics, and from the 70s until the mid-80s, she worked at the Capri Restaurant on Lake Wallenpaupack. She was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Jessup and belonged to the Idle Hour Seniors Bowling League.

A loving, generous woman who always put the needs of others before her own, Mary was a very devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Her family was her life and she was always there when you needed her.

Walking into Mary's home, you were immediately filled with unconditional love. A very gifted woman in the culinary arts, her countless Sunday and holiday dinners were full of happiness and laughter — shared by so many throughout the years. From the warm smile and hugs at the front door to the aroma of Italian cooking, her loving kindness always made you feel right at home.

We could never repay Mary for the lessons she has taught us and the lifetime of love she has given us. Her beautiful life continues to inspire us and we will love her forever. She has blessed our lives beyond measure.

Mary's family would like to thank her sister-in-law, Marion Fabri, Lois Chakaris and Pastor Jack Parry for their loving support, friendship and kindness.

Surviving are two sons, Michael D. and wife, Shoko, Shalimar, Fla.; and Bruce J. and fiancée, Renee Kurilla, Jessup; a granddaughter, Michelle Jackson and husband, Tommy, Birmingham, Ala.; a grandson, Michael Jr., Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Fabri Sr., Lakeville; and Edward Fabri Sr. and wife, Marion, Jessup; three sisters-in-law, Albina, Eleanor and Mollie Fabri; nieces, nephews and cousins.
