Mary Federko, 96, New York City, formerly of Olyphant, died Friday at Dewitt Nursing Home, where she resided.
She was born in Jessup, daughter of the late Wasyl and Nellie Pisechko Federko. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School and Scranton State Hospital School of Nursing. She received Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from New York University
. Before retirement, she was employed as a certified occupational and safety health nurse. She was a member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Blakely; the Ukrainian National Women's League of America and the Ukrainian Museum, New York City.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Michael; and a sister, Mildred Miller.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Michael Wargo Jr. Funeral Home, 812 E. Scott St., Olyphant, with Divine Liturgy at 10 in St. Andrew's Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Ben Worlinsky. Interment, parish cemetery, Blakely.
