Mary K. Metschulat, 97, of Dunmore, died Friday morning in Allied Skilled Nursing Facility. Her husband, Arthur Metschulat Sr., died in August 1995.
Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine Miaso Ratay and attended Olyphant Catholic schools. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister whose pride and joy was her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking and had a special devotion to St. Ann. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Salvatore Lawrence, the staff at Allied Nursing Facility and Hospice Community Care for all of their care and compassion through Mary's illness.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Metschulat, Dunmore; sons, Arthur Jr. and wife, Vickie, Madisonville; Robert, Hollisterville; and Eugene and wife, Karen, Spring Brook Twp.; sisters, Helen Vanderburg and Angeline Stefursky and husband, Joseph, all of Peckville; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
