Mary M. "Mamie" May

Mary M. "Mamie" May, 90, of Scott Twp., died Friday at the Mid-Valley Hospital after being stricken ill at home. Her first husband, Regis Sweeney, died in 1965, and her second husband, Bruce May, died in 1984.

Born in Peckville, daughter of the late William and Mary Mulderig Coughlin, Mary was a graduate of Blakely High School, and in her early working career, she worked at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., and later as a nurse's aide in home health care.

Mary's family would like to thank all the staff at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center for the excellent care they gave Mary so she was able to go back to her home.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ellen Sweeney and fiancé, John Mancus, Scott Twp.; and Mary Jane Paserp and husband, Gene, Mayfield; a son, Bruce May, Fleetville; two granddaughters, Melissa Pedriani and husband, Travis, Jermyn; and Michelle Paserp, Mayfield; and two nieces, Linda Malinchak and Fran Paolucci, both of Scott Twp.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Francis "Buddy" Coughlin.

Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, Peckville.
