Mary P. Dougherty

Mary P. Dougherty of Scranton died Nov. 22 in St. Mary's Villa, Elmhurst. She was the widow of James F. Dougherty, who died Oct. 19, 1980.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Ella Holeton Powers, she was a member of St. Paul's Church and a graduate of St. Paul's High School, class of 1932. Before retirement, she was employed by Bell Telephone Co. Mary volunteered for many years at the Pennsylvania Blind Association. She was a loving and devoted mother and aunt who will be deeply missed by her loving family.

Surviving are a son, Daniel Dougherty, Scranton; a daughter, Ellie Ruck, Seminole, Fla.; and a niece, Barbara Caraffa and husband, Thomas, Garnet Valley.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Powers; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Dougherty; and a son-in-law, Rob Ruck.

The funeral was at the convenience of the family. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
