Mary Rose "Rosie" Margotta, formerly of Dunmore, died Thursday at the residence of her daughter in Old Forge. She was the wife of Frank Margotta, who died in 2001.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Patricia McGuire Langan, she was educated in Scranton schools and before retirement had been employed in the security department at the former Jamesway in Dunmore, as a Dunmore borough police officer and by the Lackawanna County Sheriff's Department Drug Task Force.
Her family would like to thank At Home Quality Care and give a special thank you to Carla, her caregiver, Dr. Darlene Dunay and her staff and the Care Givers of America Hospice, especially J.J. and Sister Joann for all their loving and devoted care.
Surviving are three daughters, Lucy Roth and husband, Joel, Scranton; Jeanne Donovan and husband, Paul, Jefferson Twp.; and Connie Uhrin and husband, Jerry, Old Forge, with whom she resided; four grandchildren, Jill White, Frank Borgia, Corey and Zachary Uhrin; three great-grandchildren, Shelbe Rose, Haile and Abbie; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Langan and Regina Baransky.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
