MaryAnn J. O'Neill, 79, of Factoryville, died Monday morning at VNA Hospice in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. O'Neill.
Born on May 6, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late John Joseph and Katherine Marie Holmes Stickevers, she was very socially active in her community. She was a member of Factoryville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society and Moose Lodge 1276. In her earlier years, she was a bartender at the Prince Hotel.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
MaryAnn is survived by daughters, Brenda and husband, Dominick Curci, Westbury, N.Y.; Lauretta Galm, Dallas; Maureen Weber, Jermyn; Carolyn Hubert, Mastic Beach, N.Y.; and Elizabeth and husband, Jim Ginas, Suffolk, Va.; a son, John O'Neill, Anna, Texas; sisters, Kathy and husband, Richie DeRenzis, Hicksville, N.Y.; and Helen and husband, Sal Noto, South Carolina; a brother, John and wife, Eleanor Stickevers, Howard Beach, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Robert Stickevers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at noon in Church of Nativity B.V.M. in Tunkhannock. Interment will be at Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
