Matilda "Tillie" Klim, 84, a longtime resident of Madison Twp., died Sunday evening in St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home, Elmhurst Twp. She was the widow of the late George Klim.
Born in Clarks Summit, the daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes Ellen Mazzuca Antidormi, she attended Henry Drinker School until eighth grade and went on to graduate from Moscow High School in 1948. She worked many jobs, including working as a postal clerk sub and a button operator in the sewing factories. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, the North Pocono Senior Citizens Group, and the Golden Age, where she served as the bookkeeper.
Tillie was an aunt, mother and godmother to everyone and would never play favorites. Instead, she treated each person with the same love and compassion. She would do anything for someone in need. She enjoyed her daily coffee with her friends at Bill's Supermarket.
Surviving are two sisters, Ellen Savage, Willoughby, Ohio; and Linda Joinville, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; eight brothers, Dominic, Hamlin; Anthony Jr., Ralph, Nicholas, Joseph and George, all of Madison Twp.; John and Peter, both of Lake Ariel; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Mecca.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp., with Mass at 10 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Church Street, Moscow, to be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Simon, pastor. Interment to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
