Melba Reba Rozelle Capwell

Melba Reba Rozelle Capwell died Sunday at Chester County Hospital in West Chester. She was the wife of Donald Capwell. The couple had been married for 63 years.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Benjamin and Leona Sayre Rozelle, she was a graduate of Fleetville High School. Before retirement, she was a cafeteria supervisor for Abington Heights School District for 20 years. She was a member of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.

Several of Melba's passions were gardening, cooking and baking; gardening vegetables after growing up on a farm and flowers with the iris being a favorite around the house. She loved cooking and baking for the family and professionally for the school district and restaurants; pies were a specialty.

Surviving are a daughter, Laura Dietrich and husband, Bob, Downingtown; two sons, Thomas Capwell, Lincoln University; and Gary Capwell, Tucson, Ariz.; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Dietrich.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call Thursday, 10:30 until the service.
