Michael A. Cruciani, a South Scranton resident, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He was the husband of the former Dorothy Polizzi, and the couple was married for 52 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Oliver and Pauline Petrella Cruciani. He was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Scranton. He was a member of St. John Neumann Parish. He was a retired employee of Southern Union and recently was employed by AAA Motor Club Road Service Department. He was a charter member of the South Scranton Lions Club since 1977 and was most recently the secretary of the club. He was treasurer of the Lions eye bank and hearing committee and was chairman of the Lion's Club division of the St. Patrick Day Parade for many years.
He loved to read and held season tickets to the Red Barons. He loved his grandsons and enjoyed attending the practice and games of the Junior West Side Falcons and Holy Rosary basketball. He loved spending time with his granddaughter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be deeply missed.
Also surviving are two sons, Mark Cruciani and wife, Betty; and Michael Cruciani and wife, Liz, all of Scranton; grandchildren, Geno, Joseph, Rebecca and Roman Cruciani; a brother, Mario Cruciani and wife, Carol, Scranton; two sisters, Ann Marie Maloney and husband, Jerry, Clarks Summit; and Judy Luciani and companion, Steve, Florida; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the August J. Haas Funeral Home Inc., 202 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 9:30 in Nativity Of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Michael Bryant, pastor. Entombment: Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum, Scranton.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
