Michael "Money" McEachern Jr., 23, of Scranton, died Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born May 16, 1990, in Elizabeth, N.J., son of Michael Dwayne McEachern Sr. and Dana Elaine Huffington Thornton (Eugene), he was a graduate of Scranton High School. He attended Kutztown University, where he was a brother in the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was employed as a customer marketing representative for Bank of America.
Michael was a caring, energetic and humorous young man with an unforgettable smile and infectious laugh. He lifted the spirit of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. "Money" will never be forgotten. His memory will live on with all of us eternally.
Also surviving are two sisters, Sierra Goods, Newark, N.J.; and Kaiya Thornton, Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Darhon McEachern, Scranton; maternal grandmother, Norma Huffington, Newark; paternal grandmother, Winifred Reed, Newark; two uncles, Arthur Kee and William Huffington Jr.; an aunt, Tammie Brown; and a nephew, Jordyn Searles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Huffington Sr.; and his paternal grandfather, Edward McEachern.
The funeral will be Monday with services at 11 a.m. at Parker Hill Community Church, 933 Scranton-Carbondale Highway, Dickson City. Interment will be private.
Those attending the funeral on Monday are asked to go directly to the church.
A viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, and Monday from 10 to 11 at the church.
