Mildred A. Muller died on Friday after a brief illness. Her husband was Karl Muller, whom she married in 1939.
Born June 3, 1913, Mildred had recently celebrated her 100th birthday and was able to live an active and fulfilling life. She was the daughter of the late Esther Herron and Charles J. Messersmith. Mildred graduated from Scranton Technical High School and was employed at the Scranton Trust Co. until her marriage. For many years, she was an active member of Myrtle Street United Methodist Church and the Century Club of Scranton.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Judy Randolph and Barbara Muller; grandchildren, Charles Herbert and wife, Denise; Kristen Bockus and husband, William; and Frederick Johnston and wife, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Benjamin, Mitchell, Samuel and Alexander; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffrey; and son-in-law, Alexander Johnston.
Funeral services will be conducted privately. A memorial service will be scheduled at a time to be announced.
