Nicole Thomas, 22, of Clarks Summit, passed away Friday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
She was born in Scranton on September 2, 1991. She was a graduate of the Jefferson Center on June 11, 2013. She loved people, was a social butterfly, and was very determined. She enjoyed being with her family and was always happy to get company. She will be dearly missed; all will remember her curly hair and her bright smile.
She is survived by her grandmother and caregiver, Louisa Thomas; and her aunt and caregiver, Tina Lysak, both of Clarks Summit; brother, Michael Thomas, Taylor; mother, Tammy Thomas and her father, Michael Motovidlac, both of Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Jeff Lysak; a nephew, Gabriel Thomas; maternal great-grandparents, Martha and Carl Balliet Sr.; and grandfather, Charles Thomas.
Nicole's life was touched by many loving hands, from Early Intervention, UCP in Clarks Summit, Mayfield and Dunmore elementary schools, Jefferson Center and St. Joe's Day Care Center. The family will always be grateful to Scranton Counseling, Hershey Medical Center, Danville Regional Medical Center, Geisinger Community Medical Center and the many nurses, doctors and van drivers. The family deeply appreciates all of the tender loving care expressed to Nicole.
The funeral service will be Monday evening at 7 from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be held at a later time in Milwaukee Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Joseph's Center Day Care Program, 320 S. Blakely St., Dunmore, PA 18512.
