Orlando A. Paris of Scranton died Wednesday in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Frank C. and Gertrude Coppatelli Paris, he was educated in the Scranton School District and served in the Navy on the Kula Gulf, Rendova, Gilbert Island, Siboney, Lexington and Coral Sea ships before retiring in 1963. After retiring from the Navy, he was a welder until he retired in 1986.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling. Orlando also enjoyed his friendships with Joseph Domiano and Elizabeth Bingham, whom he considered to be family.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Paris, Scranton; a son, Orlando Paris, Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Spencer, Bonnie and Robert; four great-grandchildren, Brett, Jake, Kyla and Brielle; sister, Adeline Colosimo, Scranton; brother, Joseph Paris, Endicott, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Emilio and John; and three sisters, Betty Paris, Frances Lucas and Victoria Linsey.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
