Patrick F. Martin, 81, of Dunmore, died Thursday at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. His wife is the former Jeanne E. Dailey. They were married for 53 years.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Luke and Margaret Mahady Martin, he was a graduate of South Catholic High School. He was an Army
veteran, having served during the Korean War
. Before retirement, he was employed by GNB Battery. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore, and a volunteer for Mended Hearts Program at Mercy Hospital until 2012.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital and Moses Taylor Hospital ICU.
Also surviving are three sons, Timothy and wife, Dr. Linda Martin, Richmond, Va.; Patrick and wife, Leslie Martin, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Jerome and wife, Jill Martin, Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers, Dr. John P. Martin, Manchester, N.J.; and Joseph C. Martin, Garnersville, N.Y.; a sister, Helen T. Lally, Holly Springs, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Luke J. Martin.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. All those attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
