Paul A. McIntyre of Pleasant Mount, formerly of Avoca, died Friday at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. His wife is the former Margaret Cerar.
Born in Avoca, he was the son of the late John and Sadie Sheerer McIntyre. He was a member of St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. He was an Army
veteran of the Korean War
, attaining the rank of sergeant. A graduate of Duryea High School, he was a member of Pleasant Mount Emergency Services and a former member of the Avoca Hose Company and the Duryea Fire Company. Before his retirement, he was employed by Thompson Consumer Electronics (RCA), Dunmore, and earlier in his career, he was the service manager at several area auto dealerships.
Also surviving are a daughter, Heidi Pitsilos and husband, Andy, Bethlehem; a son, Blaze Wielebinski and wife, Laura, Pleasant Mount; five granddaughters; a sister, Betty Ann Durkin and husband, Francis, Avoca; many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jack McIntyre; a sister, Mary Barrett; and a nephew, Brian McIntyre.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. Interment, Union Dale Cemetery.
