Ray "Crow" Cucarini, 81, of Archbald, died Monday at Lackawanna Health Care Center, Olyphant. He was the widower of Ione Cucarini, who died May 30, 2010.
Born in Peckville on April 3, 1933, son of the late Serafino and Artemisa Cucarini, he was a graduate of Blakely High School and was a member of Christ the King Parish. He served in the Army
as a corporal in the Korean War
and was a retired employee of Chrysler/General Dynamics, Eynon. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Lackawanna Health Care Center and the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate care they gave Ray during his illness.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Miesse and Judy Slagus, both of Archbald; a sister, Ann Cucarini, Peckville; a sister-in-law, Marion Cucarini, New York; and three grandchildren, Vincent and Gabrielle Miesse, and Ashley Slagus.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Polansky and Josephine Cucarini; and brother, Merigo Cucarini.
The funeral will be Thursday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Christ the King Parish at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Entombment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Montdale.
