Raymond A. Cavalieri

Raymond A. Cavalieri, 85, of West Scranton, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center following an illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Alice, of 35 years, and his second wife, Jean, of 10 years.

Ray was born in Scranton to the late Anthony and Immaculata (Scaramuzzo) Cavalieri, the oldest of three children. He graduated from West Scranton High School, was a Navy veteran and obtained a degree in electronics from Temple University.

Ray is survived by his three beloved daughters, Jill (Jim) Bird of Rochester, N.Y.; Kim Cavalieri of Mayfield; and Lynn Cavalieri of Hillsborough, N.J.; and five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jamie, Michael, Danny and Nicholas.

He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mary Genuario; and survived by his beloved brother, Albert (Rose) of King of Prussia.

Retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot, Ray was known for his good sense of humor and charm, a great home remodeler, but most of all, as a long time, well loved musician in the area.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 South Main Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St. Friends may call Saturday 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment at Cathedral Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
