Raymond D. Cwynar, 89, of Spring Brook Twp., died Wednesday at St. Mary's Villa, Moscow.
Born in Scranton, he was one of eight children of the late Felix and Antoinette Janus Cwynar. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School in 1943. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church and lived in Spring Brook Twp., with his loving wife, Jean Wiltshire Cwynar, whom he married on June 15, 1946, in Scranton. He worked at Consolidated Tool and DSW Tool as a tool and die maker until he retired 25 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; three sons, Raymond Cwynar Jr., Leola; David Cwynar, Morrison, Colo.; and Paul Cwynar, Moscow; two daughters, Karen Cwynar Amate, Northampton; and Janet Ciszak, Hawley; a brother, Felix Cwynar, Blaine, Wash.; a sister, Wanda Price, Pleasanton, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Sznyter Funeral Home, 1101 Prospect Ave., Scranton, at 9:30 a.m., with Mass at 10 at St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, 529 E. Locust St. Entombment, St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Kane Street.
