Raymond L. Kimble, 83, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at Commonwealth Hospice in Scranton. He was the husband of Marina Dooley Kimble for nearly 60 years.
He was a graduate of Thompson High School, Thompson, and received a bachelor's degree from Mansfield State College, a master's degree from the State University of New York, Cortland, and his doctorate of education from Arizona State University
. He taught at Wichita State University, the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, and retired after 20 years from the University of Scranton.
Also surviving are his daughters, Rayleen Beckwith, Clarks Summit; and Lori Lucero, Pueblo, Colo.; grandchildren, Shayna and Keelin Beckwith, Ariel and Kyle Stewart, Jamie, Aaron and David Kimble, and Vanessa Lucero; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Kimble.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna. Burial, private, in Evergreen Cemetery.
